Saniflo Toilet Pump Keeps Running

There could be a few reasons as to why your pump keeps starting on its own throughout the day and night. I have an upflush toilet in my basement that is now running non stop. No toilet seat cabinets shower nor bathtub are included. My saniflo won t switch on off or keeps running on.

I turn the electric supply off for it to stop. If it s not blocked it s best to change the switch and the membrane as they both control start stop. When the toilet is flushed the macerator works properly but it after it has finished churning it doesn t turn off. Saniflo offers a wide range of macerating and grinding pump systems as well as drain and condensate pumps.

Unfortunately diagnosing the source of this problem is not easy. Any idea for an easy fix without taking the toilet out and taking the top off of it as i have been unplugging it for several days. One of the most common issues with saniflo pumps is that they occasionally fail to switch off. The saniflo itself is working fine but there is a constant trickle of water going into the loo bowl hence the saniflo comes on every ten mins or so to pump the extra water away. It has happened before and i unplug it then plug it back in a few times and it blows out whatever was caught in it. I have no knowledge of plumbing whatsoever so i called saniflo engineers.

There are a few reasons for this a running tap a blockage in the saniflo a blockage in the saniflo waste pipe leading outside the membrane is damaged the microswitch is stuck on or the pump blade has detached from the motor this would be accompanied by a whirring noise. However the saniplus works as a system and therefore a toilet bowl 083 or 087 toilet tank 005 and the macerating unit 002 need to be purchased. All items may be purchased separately. The microswitch is misfiring because it keeps thinking the tank is full you will have to manually remove the waste between the switch and the tank floor and then reset the pump.
